Hiiiiii! I’m Michelle, and I’m the hands behind Lit Letters. I’ve lived in Carleton Place for almost five years now, but am originally from Toledo, Ontario. I’ve been creative my whole life and am so thankful to still be able to be creative as an adult. I am a full time Social Service Worker, a part time CrossFit Coach and somehow squeeze in time to work on calligraphy projects for my lovely clients!

I live with my husband Mike and our Schneagle (Schnauzer x Beagle) Molson in our home in Carleton Place. If we finally have a night to relax, you can find us both on the couch, watching “The Office” with Molson curled up on the floor beside us. We take adulting seriously!

I started doing modern calligraphy after finding an Ottawa-area calligrapher that was offering a free, online course to learn the basic steps of calligraphy. From there, I purchased myself an iPad Pro and began lettering digitally and slowly getting better as I practiced. Today, I work with my iPad the most, but still dabble in brush pen calligraphy for envelope addressing, place cards, etc. and enjoy learning new techniques (pointed pen is next)!

Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little about me. Feel free to connect with me on any of my social media accounts; I LOVE answering questions!
